Today I read Psalm 104.  I missed 103 so that will be tomorrow.

104 is one of the creation Psalms.  It talks about the creation of everything by God.  I was at a small group training given by Bishop Wills.  He talked about our plans being too big in the short term and too small in the long term.  That got me wondering to what “our plans” refers.  To me it means the plans or direction that I get, filtered by my own discernment, from the Holy Spirit.  This filter is a function of my idea or perception of God.

After reading Psalm 104 I believe my perception of God is usually way too small.  This leads me to filter out direction from the Spirit that is too big.  Donald Miller talks about our stories.  An example he uses is a young female friend of his that started Blood Water Mission.  The Holy Ghost showed her the vision of fresh, clean water for everyone on the African continent.  That vision is too big for a human, but not for God.  That is what makes for a good story.

Lord, forgive me for putting you in a small box and make me aware of the whispers of your Holy Spirit.  Let me not filter your vision.  All glory to you.

Today I read Psalm 96 aloud and John 8.

Friday was a good day.

Praise the Lord.  I really like the praise Psalms.  Do not worry, tell God what you need, and then praise Him.  Good stuff.

Jim, good job hanging in there with the bracelet.

Lord bless Jim, Jay, and Calvin today.

I read Psalms 85-86 aloud and “Upper Room”

We are on the road to Nashville again this morning.  Thank you for your prayers.  I ask the Lord to speak and work through the doctor.  I will try to be humble in trust and praise God for his plan what however it may play.

I will praise the Lord.  I can do no better.  I can do no other

Jim congrads on five days. That rocks!  Can you see any changes other than lack of negative thoughts that you might contribute to your modified behavior?  I guess what I am wondering if you are seeing and internal changes?

All the time, Kevin, it is so exciting and terrifing awaiting the arrival of the first.  Health and peace to your wife and your self.  It is huge to feel God is blessing your work this week.  I praise God for your awareness.

Lord,  Bless and keep Calvin and Jay.

Psalm 85:12,13 “The Lord will give His goodness and the land will give its crops.  Goodness will go before God and prepare the way for him”

Lord, I beg for your goodness to be sent into each heart today that a way might be prepared for Your return in Jesus.

I read Psalm 78 and the “Upper Room” devotional.

Psalm 78 talked about God’s anger with the Israelites when they requested the kinds of food THEY WANTED while they were in the desert.  He was already providing for all their needs.  I often do this.  Lord help me to be content with your provision for my life and thankful you have provided.

Today will be a day of Christian community and I am excited.

May we all be thankful and praiseful today.

Today I read Psalms 75-77 and 100 aloud.

Last night I was blessed to be in the community of Christ and the Spirit was strong.  All praise and glory be to God.  It blows my mind the effect of a group of Christians gathering in Christ’s name, pouring their hearts our in prayer, and worshiping his Majesty.  There are no words to describe this.  Thank you Lord!

Today is a day to praise the Lord.  I can do no more.  I can do none other.

Jim - Congratulations!

Special prayers for Jay, Calvin, and Kevin as we have missed them for some time now.  Lord, keep them close to you and may they be aware of your eternal and continual closeness to them.

Please pray for my family that we are fulled to overflowing with the Spirit and that his fire burns so bright in each of us that it is visible from the outside a witness to God’s glory.  This is my prayer for each of you.
