I read some of Psalm 119 today.
I have been seeking the mind of Christ. What I am hearing is three fold.
- Read the Holy Scriptures
- Do the things they say to do, follow the instructions
- Give ALL control over to God
Last night I had a very scary dream. My wife or daughter was locked up in a hospital and no matter what I would try I did not have the power to help or even to get them out. The feeling of not being in control is the most terrifying of emotions for me, but I know in my head that control is what is standing between me and God’s will. I must release all control to the Holy Spirit.
Lord, thank you for this insight. Please give me the strength to be week. Let the battle be not mine, but yours. I desire to be your servant.

Today I read Psalm 104 and some from John 9.
Today I am torn between feeling the need for an intense day of prayer and a day of carefree relaxing. There is a so much going on in the church and with my friends and family that I do not feel like there is time or energy in the day for adequate intersession. At the same time I have been tired and feel the need for mental and emotional rest. These two needs are pulling at me. What is the meaning (God’s command) for the sabbath.
As I ask God what to do I think I am hearing “both”. Maybee God is trying to tell me that prayer should be more like a conversation with a good friend or a grandparent than a highly emotional pleading with the supreem being. I will try today to talk with Abba Father.
you know what we all need. i love and trust you. can we just sit together today?

I read Psalm 80 aloud and from the “Golden Grove”
This morning I feel very unsettled. I ask for peace for the day. I need to pray a lot today.
Jim, How is that armband going? Did you get any feedback from your church’s first week in the experiment?
May you each hold nothing in your heart against another today that God may fully bless you.

Today I read Psalms 44-45 aloud and an excerpt from “The Imitation of Christ”.
“Join me to Thyself by an inseparable bond of love; for Thou alone canst satisfy the lover, and without the all other things are frivolous.” (Four things which Bring Much Peace, Book 3 Chapter 23)
Lord, may we all be consumed by Christ.
